Something had clearly changed. Still, she was coming out. That had to be significant. I systematically worked down my father’s list. d my walk I would just keep the house. Maybe I would live in Pasadena for a while. At this point anything was possible. Kailamai flew in from Spokane on Thursday night around six. Kailamai was the young woman I had rescued from a group of men just outside of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Many felt Greenspan walked on water during his lengthy term as Chairman of the Federal Reserve System. In this book, economist Leonard Santow casts a steely eye on the Fed and its five most recent chairmen-Arthur Burns, G. William Miller, Paul Volcker, Alan Greenspan, and Ben Bernanke. Along the way, readers learn what function the Fed performs and why, how monetary policy differs from fiscal policy, which levers the Fed uses to change the money supply and control inflation, and more.

Nancy Williams' poetry makes every word count and sticks in your mind long after you've read it, just what poetry should do. I find it most enjoyable to read these slowly, in order to savor each poem.

THESE POEMS REVEAL AN UNSWERVING ATTENTION TO AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE BEAUTY IN EVERYDAY REALITY -- , PHYSICAL OBJECTS, NATURAL SURROUNDINGS, ANIMALS. MS. WILLIAMS TRULY MAKES ME SEE THINGS IN A NEW LIGHT, AND I THINK THAT IS HER SPECIAL GIFT. SHE DESCRIBES HER SURROUNDINGS IN A MANNER THAT HELPS THE READER TRANSCEND THE DULLING EFFECTS OF FAMILIARITY.IN ADDITION SHE DESCRIBES PEOPLE AND RELATIONSHIPS IN FRESH WAYS THAT BRING ME NEW INSIGHTS.

I have really enjoyed reading Stillness Walks on Water. Nancy Compton Williams' poetry truly touches my soul. I especially love her poem, "The Strand of Pearls." I have really enjoyed this book and will be waiting for her next project.

Some of these poems are so achingly "true" that all manifestations of craftsmanship disappear into the experience. Well worth owning. Worth giving. Worth talking about. Thank you.
