Best Answer: Obtaining a loan through false pretenses would be considered a form of fraud. The tax man was unhappy and this guy, that had lied for many years and cheated the tax man and lied to the bank got 18 months in prison. He and 4 others hid millions in business profits over 30 years.
Best Answer: Obtaining a loan through false pretenses would be considered a form of fraud. You could be charged with a crime and sued civilly to recoup the loan funds. I don't know if that kind of fraud would be a state or federal crime. A good lawyer is advised. I think the longest sentence anyone got was 4 years.
