A gift that a friend sent to me. I love it. It's filled with beautiful colored pictures of African cichlids living in their own playground. Lots and lots of good info to boot. Ad Konings(author)is the best in my opinion. This author never fails to amaze me.

Ad Konings would have to be the best author of books for the African Rifl Lake cichlids to ever grace the earth (in my opinion). This edition Malawi Cichlids in Their Natural Habitat continues the tradition of a great book with fantastic photos to interest me more and more on getting a hold of some of the more beautiful species. While you can just about learn everything to ever want to know from the earlier editions, the new photos alone make having this, along with all the earlier additions, well and truly worth while. If it's your first Malawi book, you'll learn enough to be able to recreate the natural habitat of the cichlids keep them in a fantastic environment, as well as learning enough to be able to target your own foods. I thoroughly enjoy the book and personally have kept over 150 of the species and variations documented within.

You can't beat this book for photos and summaries of the cichlid species of lake malawi. Every Malawi cichlid hobbiest should own this book. However, there is a newer release that is more up to date, is better structured and has more fish and photos.
