My family loves this story. My son received a copy of the book from his teacher in elementary school over 20 years ago. My children loved it when they were small and now their children love it. The story itself is a cumulative, circle story that picks up additional characters as it goes along but ends up where it started. It has a wonderful message for everyone to consider about how our actions affect others. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and very engaging. It is especially great for a younger audience; preschool through maybe first grade. As my children got older, they loved reading it to their younger siblings. This is a perfect book for reading out loud. There are wonderful opportunities for the reader to add a variety of voices and sound effects to the delight of their young listeners. I don't think this was ever published in a hardcover format. If it was, I would love to get one. As a paperback, it is difficult to find in good condition at a reasonable price. I've been on the lookout for eligible copies for each of my children to have for their families. I'm not sure why Amazon doesn't have a photograph of the actual cover of the book. The copies that I have acquired all have a picture of the ant carrying a bread crumb with a snowflake falling in front of him on the cover.

This book was purchased during the first years of teaching. Somehow it was misplaced and no one could find it. This is the first time I got wind of it. To my amazement you had it. My students today enjoys it, just as much as my first students. THANKS!!!!!!

I love the story. I misplaced the audio cassette that came with my book and would like to obtain a CD copy. I would be willing to buy another copy of the book to get the audio version with it. The publisher with the audio cassette was Riverbank Press. So far I have not been successful in finding another copy with a CD.
