The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, often shortened to LWW, was written by C. S. Lewis and published in 1950. It records the adventure of four ordinary English children - Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie - who found their way into the magical land of Narnia by way of a wardrobe that they stumbled across in an old house. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was the first of the Chronicles of Narnia to be written and published, and the first in the original book series. Lucy Looks into a Wardrobe.

These 13 witch books put their own spin on the cauldron-stirring women that have entranced readers for ages. Ever since Renira’s witch parents were burned at the stake, she’s been a captive of the Empire of Chaldon. After years of thwarting her abusive master and fighting for her freedom, she encounters three endangered outsiders-a mage named Mist and two mercenaries-who are also hoping to flee the kingdom. With their assistance, Renira may finally make her escape, though her success hinges on her willingness to embrace the very thing that killed her mother and father: magic.

The Broomwhistle Chronicles is a great fantasy adventure in the spirit of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. It is full of original characters and a detective story that takes place in the middle of a big war. The Dwill, creatures somewhere between Hobbits and Goblins, are adorable and fascinating. Uncle Pindby is hard to forget as an old Dwill who teaches his nephew Belium the ropes of surviving a crime investigation during dangerous times. The detectives have to brave Box-Wrestling matches, The Great Forest, endless monsters, the wild lands and nasty Dwill administrators to rescue some Dwill girls who are "Dwillnapped" by a rogue coven of Witches. I especially liked old Uncle Pindby's concern for his young nephew as the pair, along with interesting companions picked up along the way, avoid and outsmart the many traps set by the powerful Witches during the chase to retrieve the Dwill girls. It's incredible how the author pits Dwill Detective skills against the Witches magic...

If Henry Miller and J.R.R Tolkiens DNA were combined it would create the landscape for this book. The author uses multiple personalities to provoke the readers to engage Pindbys quest for validation. Young Belium is thrust into a world of tradition, sedition and fabled magic. This is a well written story with above average intellectual content. Great read!
