Great book for what to see in the US and overseas. I'll probably use it for US travel/road trips. Pictures are b&w, but still very good...at least it has pictures. The commentary is short but informative.

It's written in a readable and interesting way.
The book certainly helped me figure out that I don't really fit into any of those baby boomer and older groups, because I'm more fascinated by castles than by museums (and less interested in shopping). I never wanted to go on a cruise.
Also I could care less about beach vacations (no Sandals for me).
Bicycle trips are too strenuous.
And bus tours don't leave enough space for my long legs (it's torture as it is for me on the airplane when the passenger in front of me needs to recline his seat and tries to take away even more space for my legs) and I already did an RV trip all by myself in 1997. You can basically only drive on major highways. As soon as you try smaller country roads with a medium sized 19 ft long RV for instance (like I did) and come to a fork in the road, you need help to see if somebody comes from the right side. So in case your spouse is sleeping, you need to wake her/him up.

For my husband and me it boils down to booking our hotels, flights and a rental car in Europe (and not being afraid of driving left lane traffic :)).

My only complaint about this book: why is there no index which discloses WHERE all the black & white photos were taken?
My guess on page 103 would be Prague and the statue on the right could be created by Polish sculptor Veit Stoss?
So I checked the entire book, but was unable to find out what places those are.
Maybe the next updated edition could offer such a list?
