Thinking Pregnant by Megan Steelman is one of the few books I found that tries to fill this niche. Thinking Pregnant is for women and their partners who want to have children, but who want to lay the groundwork before facing the reality. I should have known by the slimness of the volume that I would find it ultimately disappointing. I'm one of those people who gets the big picture very quickly, what I really want to know are all of the practical little details. This book is a motherlode of advice, dealing with the very practical considerations of health care options and financial issues, as well as solid medical information about conception, and preparing your body for pregnancy.
