Yet no matter how I expressed my satisfaction with my life, my mother feared that I was destined to become a Crazy Cat Lady (though I had only two cats!), shuffling around in bathrobe and slippers, cleaning litter boxes in between book deadlines. I think it made her even more nervous that I wasn’t afraid of being alone for the rest of my life.

Amazon dropped "IN THE PINK: HOW I MET THE PERFECT (YOUNGER) MAN, SURVIVED BREAST CANCER, AND FOUND TRUE HAPPINESS AFTER 40" into my Kindle right after midnight and I finished it by around 1:30 am.

It is great. No, it is definitely greater than great! Susan tells her specific story with such a greatful heart and yet her wry outlook on life, love, and tatas is totally heartwarming, uplifting and inspiring, and also, in parts, funny.

I would recommend this book to unmarried women over 35, those facing breast cancer and those older women who want to have babies. If it doesn't fit your situation, I'll bet you know someone for whom it is a great fit and it would be hopefully inspiring to them. In any case, BUY THIS BOOK!

I too wonder if MY UNMARRIED DAUGHTER (AGE 35) will become THAT CRAZY LADY WITH CATS but I have secured a no more than two cats promise from her AND, as Susan had demonstrated, you never known what's waiting for you around the bend!

Susan and her family continue to live happily and Susan is back to writing more books for us all to enjoy!

This is the story of Susan McBride's adventures after 40, and how she found a strong love, only do discover that she had breast cancer, and how she fought this, with his support, and the support of her family. It is alternately funny, and poignant, and guaranteed to bring a tear to the eye. Her relationship with her mother undergoes a change and cancer seem to invade her consciousness on all sides. There are no easy answers. Happily, MacBride has beat the cancer, she describes beautifully how she discovers she is pregnant after having a miscarriage. She is funny, touching, and above all, one of the most human writers I've read, and she is not afraid to include us in her ups and and downs. I thought this was highly inspirational, and I am a huge admirer of MacBride's writings.

I read most of this book on my phone in the middle of the night, trying not to wake my husband with my laughter. It's a story about finding love, moving through a cancer diagnosis and having a late in life baby, in that order. The unconditional support author Susan McBride got from her man and her mom warmed my heart and her honesty in all that happened to her in the span of a few short years moved me to tears and unbridled laughter. A short, heartfelt read.

It was not what I expected ( I thought it was fiction), but it was really interesting about marrying a younger man and how she dealt with cancer.

Having survived breast cancer myself, I'm glad I didn't read this book first. I think it would have made me more anxious.
