and Lanning B. Kline, . I know of very few ophthalmology residents or fellows in training, in spite of their particular subspecialty interests, who do not have a worn and tattered copy of this manual, both for understanding the basics of neuro-ophthalmology and for preparation for their ophthalmology board examination.

A manual on clinical neuro-ophthalmology. This fifth edition contains two new chapters on disorders of visual integration and phakomatoses, and all chapters and references throughout the text have been updated. In addition, there is information on the interpretation of visual field findings, and the manifestations of cranial nerve syndromes are summarized. There are bibliographies in each chapter, along with a four-colour reproduction of a migraine. The reference should be useful both as preparation for certification examinations as well as for reinforcing the clinical neuro-ophthalmology principles used in everyday practice.

you need this one. loaded with info, small, current and high yield. the price makes the value exceptional. it does fall short on the explanation side, so it is not a reference text in any way but it is a great review manual.

Good book, five stars. Excellent resource.

If you want a short book that is understandable, brief and delivers the clinical goods with lots of illustrations this is a good bet.

Just throw out the basic series neuro book (if you are an ophthalmology resident) and get this. Loved it and would buy again.

I am not sure some things in this book aren't the opposite of what one observes clinically. It can cause bad judgment and patient care if we describe almost never observations <1% of the time with a particular diagnosis. It seems particular heritage physicians almost never report correct information or perhaps there are erroneous and accurate versions of the same book. Nevertheless, photography over 100 years of time will tell the truth. It's odd how the five star ratings are given to authors who report the most clinically opposite of reality observations.

Enough said...well almost! This is the best neuro-ophth review book out there. My neuro score on the OKAPS sky rocketed after I read this book. The BCS book stinks, but this book rocks. So easy to follow and review you will wonder why you ever wasted your time with any other book. The book is organized into very high yield bullet points that really pinpoint exactly what you need to know and none of the filler that you don't care about. Diagrams are easy to follow. No real pictures is the drawback, so will need an atlas or the like for pics. The section on visual fields was amazing! If neuro is your weak point (it was mine) or a strength, this book will help you regardless.

Excellent review source for neuro-ophthalmology. Hits highlights of important topics, much more concise than the ophthalmology basic science series neuro-ophthalmology book or other texts such as Glaser, walsh & hoyt etc. A must to use for studying for the ophthalmology boards. There are even some surgical diagrams such as the basic steps in performing optic nerve sheath decompression.

And in response to the previous review, Dr. Kline is an ophthalmologist, and the book is geared more toward ophthalmologists than neurologists, although it is certainly beneficial for both.
This book is a brilliant summary of neuro-ophthalmology which is a perfect guide to writing clear essays in exams and useful for sorting out diagnostic issues in the clinic.
