I was hoping to find suggestions and strategies to help enrich and differentiate my middle school curriculum so that it better meets the needs of gifted students. Although this textbook has a large section (with 12 chapters) devoted to the topic of instructional models and practices, it has very little practical or theoretical discussion of differentiating in a mixed ability classroom. Although I realize this wasn't the focus of this text, I didn't expect it would avoid the topic entirely.

This was a required text for a graduate-level class of mine, and was an excellent read. Would recommend this book to anyone involved in teaching gifted students.

Had to buy this book again as I lent it to a student and it didn't come back to me - often refer to this book. Chapters written by key authors in the field. Looking forward to a 4th edition?

I ordered this book as a textbook/course requirement, not for reading pleasure. Being new to gifted education, however, I believe it will be a valuable resource.
The book came on time before my class started. It looks more like a brand new book than a used one.
