Greek billionaire Dimitri Petronides has one rule: duty over passion-especially for the women in his bed and this includes his latest mistress, the beautiful Xandra Fortune. But when Dimitri ends their affair, announcing his engagement to a more suitable woman, Xandra's parting shot before leaving turns his world upside down.

I usually love Lucy Monroe's book. This one was a bit much for me.

Their relationship was modern and free of long-term commitment, something she'd made it clear by her actions she did not expect from him. She pressed her body to his in blatant invitation and he laughed. I usually love Lucy Monroe's book.

This book has been one I like to re-read. It's about an arrogant Greek who took a French model to be his mistress. But not all was as it seemed. He breaks off with her to marry a Greek girl his grandfather wanted. She tried telling him that she was pregnant. He didn't believe her. So she disappeared. She was not what he thought. I liked the story line for the fact he had to fight to find her. And win her back. Lucy Monroe is one of my favorite authors.

A tender story filled with emotions. Xandra or Alexandra models and has an affair with Dimitri. This lasts a year until Dimitri ends it and basically treats her badly. But Dimitri was trying to please his grandfather who he loves. His grandfather won't have surgery unless Dimitri promises to marry another. It really destroys Alexandra. She loves him and on too of that she finds out she is pregnant. There is so much they go through. Please read. You will enjoy.

I don't know why I have not shared the enjoyment of reading this book before. It's a big 5. I've had it for 2 years and have read it at least a dozen or more times. Maybe a spoiler in this review. So called spoilers don't bother me, but it does some as I've been told; so I'll state it up front. Xandra, heroine, is a model. Dimitri, hero, is her first and only lover. After a year living together, Dimitri returns from his grandfather's home to inform Xandra that he is getting married to his long awaiting financee. Unbeknown to Xandra, he has been betrothed to this girl/woman for many years. But Xandra has important news to tell him; she is pregnant. He does not believe the baby is his and has her and her things physically removed from their shared home by his property maintenance crew. This was so overwhelming it was almost unbelieveable; and he desperately regretted it later. As I said, Ms. Monroe at her best. Then following, as usual, heartache for everyone. Dimitri did not want to leave Xandra; but his grandfather demands he marry. Dimitri doesn't even consider telling his grandfather about Xandra; he doesn't believe she is acceptable as a wife. This is an excellent love story. Anyone who loves romance will enjoy the angst leading to a HEA. Ms. Monroe did a great job tying everything up in a nice happy bow. This is the best book by Ms. Monroe that I've read. And I've read many. Try it you'll like it!!

This is one of my all time favorite romance books, and I read a lot. They have a very bad parting, on his part. Then, as soon as you see them together again, you know they are in love even if both are unsure of the other. I reread this one so many times, and it is always so good. I have owned it for 4 years and just realized I have never left a review. It is a great book and is worth the money to buy it.

I really love how this book follows the age old story-line of the billionaire hurting his woman and then after realizing that he loves her. What was so great about this book was that Alex didn't let Dimitri treat her any way he pleased. I always love a strong heroine who can stand up for herself but knows when to back down. Alex is hurt by Dimitri when he doesn't believe the baby is his but she still loves him no matter what lies she tries to tell herself. And it is clear that Dimitri loves her as well and is remorseful about the way he treated her. It was a change from other Harlequin novels where the man finally realizes what an a-hole he's been in the last chapter and the woman forgives him. Dimitri realizes early on that he was wrong and tries to make amends. I felt like they balanced each other out very well and there's was a story that I could believe in and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this book!

I thought this was a really sweet story. Dimitri started off being a jerk, but he redeemed himself throughout the story. Dimitri Loved his grandfather. He couldn't let the man die. His grandfather refused to have by-pass surgery until Dimitri promised to marry Phoebe. The grandfather has no idea that Dimitri was in a serious relationship with Alexandra. He just wanted grandkids before he died. He thought he was doing the right thing by pushing his grandson. Dimitri had no choice but to break up with Alexandra. He didn't believe her when she said she was pregnant. After she left, he knew she was telling the truth. Is it too late for Dimitri to make things work between Alexandra, and himself? He was frantic, when he couldn't find her. He hired P.I's, and no one could locate her. It's a love story, so you know he was able to find her. You will have to read this sweet story.

I thought it had a great storyline and I liked the characters to an extent. Xandra was very likeable - I just wondered why if she had been living with Dimitri for so long, why couldn't she explain about her family? I know the novel needs some dilemmas or it's "book over" but I didn't feel the delemma was enough to keep that type of secret from someone you lived with for so long.

Anyway, Dimitri was too shallow for me. I love an alpha male but I like the alpha males that aren't in the dark on what's going on. It seemed he only went after Xandra when he found out she was really pregnant with his child. There just wasn't enough of his point of view to tell otherwise.

Spoiler alert: In fact, throughout the book he seems more concerned about the baby than Xandra. Not saying that's bad, I just feel he should love both the same.
The HEA was good - but it usually is in these types of books.
I usually love Lucy Monroe's book. This one was a bit much for me. I really did NOT like the way the so called hero was willing to just dump the woman he had been openly living with, and pregnant with his child, to marry someone his grandfather wanted just to produce an heir. The heroine gave this guy every opportunity, even to telling him about the pregnancy, to come to his senses but NO! I didn't like the way he had her forcibly evicted from their apartment either. At least the heroine didn't grovel after him when he rejected her & his child. He really had to work for it.
