Thayer selects a river, a lake, and an ocean beside which to locate her characters; however, I was disappointed in that she did not deliberately bring the water into the solutions and future for these ladies. This is a beautiful book. The women are so real and their interpersonal relationship so common, that it speaks to the reader.
