The Comparative Drama Conference was founded in 1977 by Dr. This international, interdisciplinary event is devoted to all aspects of theatre scholarship, including textual and performance analysis.

The Comparative Drama Conference (CDC) is an international, interdisciplinary conference founded by Dr. Karelisa Hartigan at the University of Florida in 1977. Subsequently, Dr. Stratos E. Constantinidis relocated the CDC to The Ohio State University, Columbus campus (2000-2004); Dr. Kevin J. Wetmore Jr. to Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles (2005-2011); and Dr. Laura Snyder to Stevenson University, Baltimore (2012-2016). Every year, approximately 185 scholars are invited to present and discuss their work in the field of drama and 2-4 new plays receive a staged reading.
