This is a hatchet job that exposes more about William Russo than James Kirkwood. Russo was clearly baiting Kirkwood in their discussions about the novel, and Kirkwood seemed to be trying to handle an emotional sadist. Read Kirkwood's haunting THERE MUST BE A PONY and let that be the final word on the matter. Russo quotes Tennessee Williams: "Friends don't do that to friends". Russo might have heeded the sentiment.

This is a hatchet job that exposes more about William Russo than James Kirkwood. I read it two years ago and was so annoyed that I didn't think it warranted a comment.
