He was Lord Mayor of London from 1962 to 1963. As of 2010 the title is held by his eldest son, the second Baronet, who succeeded in 1998. Sir Ralph Edgar Perring, 1st Baronet (1905–1998). Sir John Raymond Perring, 2nd Baronet (born 1931) m. Ella Pelham (1940-2019). The heir is their elder son John Simon Pelham Perring (. 0 July 1962).
