Ellery Queen is a pseudonym used by two American cousins from Brooklyn-Daniel Nathan, alias Frederic Dannay (1905-1982), and Manford (Emanuel) Lepofsky, alias Manfred Bennington Lee (1905-1971)-to write detective fiction. In a successful series of novels that covered forty-two years, Ellery Queen served as both the authors' name and that of the detective-hero. The cousins also cofounded and directed Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, one of the most influential English crime-fiction magazines of the twentieth century. For fans of nostalgic mystery fiction, there is plenty of enjoyment in these pages.

I remember having one volume of this magazine at home when I was growing up. I loved the idea of short mysteries so the magazine really appealed to me. Ellery Queen’s character was a mystery writer and amateur detective in a number of novels written from 1929 to the early 1970’s. The books were written under the pseudonym, or pen name, Ellery Queen with most of the novels being written by cousins Frederic Dannay and Manfred Bennington Lee.
Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine is probably the most successful mystery magazine of all time, having run continuously for a staggering 64 years, notching up almost 750 issues, and is still being published today.
