Alas, not everything goes according to plan. Jet 2 is a wonderful action book. The action, once again, is breathtaking and emotions run high. This is where you realise that Jet is not really just a killing machine. She left that behind her when she faked her death. But to get over David's betrayal, to get the most important thing in the world, she will have to go back to it. To get her daughter, she will have to pay a price. She will be betrayed once more and will have to work out the truth for herself. Will she get out of this terrible mess?

Matt had taken the lead at first light, dawn having broken an hour earlier. I can predict he’ll screw you. That’s what he does. The challenge is to allow him to think he’s doing so, and in the process figure out what he did with her. I may be able to help with that. In fact, I’m sure of it. It’ll take some time and money, but fortunately I have plenty of the latter. It’s the time element that will be the problem

Sequel to the first book, JET: Betrayal is a plot spread over the entire world. Russell Blake has managed to keep his character in shape. The conception and the ideas behind the novel are as phenomenal, maybe even better, than its prequel.

This is my second time stepping into the world of Russell Blake's JET. How can you not love this woman. **Spoiler Alert: "he reached into his jacket for a cell phone and tossed it to her. Her eyes remained fixed on him as she snatched it out of the air."** Now, I ask you...how COOL is that?! Men want her, women want to be like her.

I read Jet, the first in the series, and became enthralled with the characters, the plot, and the different cities and countries the story took me to. Russell Blake is descriptive in such a way you have a virtual 360 degree view of your surroundings, with all your senses activated: sight, sound, touch, smell and even taste. He has created such a balance between action, dialogue, and depth of characters. In Jet II - The Betrayal, we already know Jet's background but Russell Blake takes us deeper in to show us her strength of character. She kills not for pleasure, but for justice and for revenge.

Usually an author will let you see and get a feel for what drives the lead character(s). Russell Blake, though, does that with each secondary character as well. You know what each player brings to the table and why. Quite a feat to accomplish without absolutely boring you to death. But, boring is not in this writer's vocabulary. From the first page, you're caught up in the story and it draws you deeper and deeper in with each turn of the page. I was quite sorry to see when the turn of the page became the last but am so excited to know another beginning will soon be on the way.

A little warning to the reader getting ready to start the book: Don't start it on a Friday - not unless you have absolutely nothing to do on the weekend. This is the second time I've started reading a Russell Blake book on a Friday. No matter what genre you're accustomed to, this book is for you. It crosses over and attracts everyone from mystery, thriller, romance and drama. This is one series I hope to never turn that page and see "The End".

At the conclusion of the previous book Jet had discovered that she had a daughter. Her lover had given the baby to a couple in Omaha Nebraska. She is a little girl
and her name is Hanna. After flying into Omaha Jet is able to locate her child. She sneaks into the house and retrieves the little girl. She leaved with the little girl
and goes back to the motel. She she is shot with a dart that knocks her out. When she comes back to she finds that she has been taken prisoner by a man named Arthur. He is in the employ of the CIA. He is horribly disfigured because of being burned. He is holding Hanna as a prisoner. Jet has to carry out an assassination on a man named Matthew Hawker. Upon doing this assassination Jet will get Hanna back. Wanting her child back she agrees. She goes to Bangkok and travels into Myanmar. She is trying to find a former Delta Force soldier named Matthew Hawker. He has stolen $50 million in diamonds that are the property of the U.S. government. The further she digs she
discovers that the CIA has a huge drug ring with Arthur the ring leader. Things become even more confusing trying to figure out who is the bad guys. This book has an
explosive ending. Be sure to read it.

Just finished the sequel to JET #1: JET #2 - Betrayal...
Awesome Book by a skilled writer in the Action/Thriller Genre!
JET is a former Mossad Operative and an excellent & deadly assassin (And you better NOT even be thinking "For a Girl" - Or she'll kick your ass, at the very least!)!
Seriously, this is a great story with a little of everything: Action, Adventure, Compassion, Horror, Death, Weapons, Drugs, Prostitution, and More!
This time around, Jet's mission (And she has NO choice but to accept it as it involves the fate of her daughter) involves corrupt CIA members and drug trafficking...
And the End is just such a heartbreaker... I've gotta read JET #3!
Thanks to Russell Blake for creating the character and allowing me to escape and fall right into this series of books!

I loved the first in the series and happily bought the sequel (this one) expecting a similar thrill ride. This definitely has many of the first's core elements: action aplenty, country hopping, and Jet's incredible fighting skills. We see a softer side of Jet in this novel which I liked. It works well in it being the antithesis of her ruthlessness. And Blake shares a little about her upbringing which helps fill in some of the blanks about why she is has become who she is.

There were points in this one where it got bogged down a little which affected it's pace in places. In particular, the ease with which she flips so quickly to believing Hawker surprised me. Yes, there is little realism but that's not the point of these type of novels. Could the CIA be the biggest mobsters of the lot? Interesting and terrifying thought. A good aspect to explore.

I've bought the prequel and I expect after a break will move onto Number III as I'm intrigued to see how Blake develops Jet's character.
