I am totally and completely a "Trixie Fan." I swear that if she had a Fan Club - I would want to be President of it. Or at least in charge of the membership drive! LOL

I believe that our pets do wait for us. And I feel sorry for the cynics that choose not to believe this. That said, I have never anticipated a book more than BLISS TO YOU. Frankly...it was worth the wait.

BLISS TO YOU is funny, sweet, informative and PROFOUND. It is the perfect gift to give every dog lover in your life. Also perfect for everyone whom you care about in your life who maybe is feeling depressed or doesn't seem to know what their purpose is in life.

I gave this book to my next-door neighbor who has experienced two very tragic losses recently with the sudden death of her son-in-law last year and 19-yr. old grandson a few months ago. She told me that the book "magically" opened to Step 7 about Loss. After reading it, she was so moved that she immediately called her daughter (the mother of her grandson) and READ this chapter to her. They were both comforted so much.

The novels by Dean Koontz reveal him to be an amazing author; Bliss to You proves that he is an amazing human being as well.

And remember! ALL of the proceeds from BLISS TO YOU go to support Trixie's favorite charity: Canine Companions for Independence! (CCI) This is SUCH a worthwhile organization and it helps so many individuals and soldiers who are incapacitated or in wheelchairs or deaf.

The book itself is beautiful and absolutely great for displaying on your coffee table. But what is INSIDE this book is even MORE beautiful: Lessons about life from our favorite TOTOS. (Trixie On The Other Side.)
As a cheerful human caregiver of two exceptional GSD's, one rescued Chia-Poo, nine rescued cats and two non-rescued wonderful horses, I cannot imagine the icky mindset from those two recent unpleasant reviewers. Of course Trixie would not wish for anyone to dwell on the negative; therefore my extremely positive and grateful review cancels their reviews completely off the page.

This book makes me smile and laugh out loud on a regular basis. I am grateful for those whom love animals enough to recognize the cleverness and simplicity of Trixie's message. To my way of thinking if everyone followed Trixie's lead there would be no need to share negative opinions, as some things are better left unspoken. Unwritten. Be nice or take your dang bone and head back to the house.
One of Koontz's lesser known books, this is a hidden gem that is unlike anything else he has written. A tribute to his beloved Golden Retriever, Trixie, this collection of canine thoughts is a book full of smiles and giggles (particularly for dog lovers and Koontz fans). I actually purchased this book for myself, but I was so taken with it and impressed, I decided to give it to a friend for a birthday present- I just felt like "Bliss to You" had to be shared. It's a quick read, seeing how as it's just a collection of humorous philosophies (convincingly portrayed from the mind of the four legged beast in question), so anybody can pick it up and flip through some random pages to glean nuggets of wisdom from the marvelous mind of Trixie.
I love this calendar. It would make me smile every day. It is filled with all Trixie's wisdom from her book of the same name and has a little picture of her on every page. What's not to love?
Trouble is, I don't have a desk. Ok, I have a desk somewhere under the clutter, but the only available nearly flat surface is computer keypad. Can't put calendar there.
Will have to give calendar to friend who also loved the book and works in an office where I'm sure she has room for this calendar and will love it. But that means I don't get to love it myself. Very sad. Been reading Trixie's book and calendar too much. Starting to write like her. Could be worse. Could have not seen Trixie's book or calendar. Would write better, but would not be smiling.
This is a funny and thoughtful book. It makes one think about one's own life observations. I did notice at times that Trixie's thoughts might have been influenced a bit by her "interpreter" but that often happens. The nice thing about dogs is that they cannot comprehend our various agendas and belief systems. Perhaps that's why they are so happy. For them joy is unconditional.
I recommend this book very much. And if you own (or know) a Golden Retriever this is a book whose central character will be very familiar. Well, now that I think of it dogs, in general, possess an extraordinary ability to enjoy life as humans would if they weren't so much more intelligent, and knew so many "vital facts" that keep them from just digging it.
The Sphinx of Driz
This book is sweet, fanciful and unexpectedly deep in places. A great easy positive read which made me laugh and in a few places tear up, having two dogs as part of my own family I could relate to the unspoken background of Dean Koontz's perspective. If you're looking for a phenomenal guide to life without the charts and scientific jargon this could be it.
Sadaron above the Gods
This is a wonderful little book filled with humorous observations by Trixie (who is dog). My sister handed me her copy and said I had to read it. (I loved it.) I then bought two books as gifts. I decided I wanted one for myself, so I bought another, after which I bought the audio version. I hesitated on an audio version, because I was afraid the person reading it would not be able to do Trixie justice---sometimes audio books can be annoying if the reader doesn't have the voice for it. But I listened to a sample online before I bought it, and if Trixie had a human voice, she would probably sound like Teryn McKewin. When I am stuck in traffic or doing chores around the house and I want to boost my spirits, I listen to Trixie for awhile and she has a way of reminding me to not take life so seriously.
