This was my text in graduate school but I lost my copy. It's a good primer for all sorts of techniques. It is a bit dated in terms of tools and equipment but the basics are still credible. It's certainly not a beginner book (i.e. You Tube would be a better bet for this audience.) but a good "go to" for artists seriously interested in these techniques.

The directions are great, I wish there were more color pictures. The book is comprehensive, ok for beginners and experienced batik fans.

This is an older book. It does cover the basics very well.
But, technology has left this book somewhat behind.
