Robert Walmsley's 'Peterloo-The Case Re-opened' (1969) has left me wondering if this 'Manchester Massacre' ever really happened at all. With the Preface and Prologue, Walmsley's thesis covers almost six hundred pages, utilising a vast amount of primary source material, documents.

Vice Admiral Sir Robert Walmsley, KCB, FREng, FRSA, FIET (born 1 February 1941) is a retired senior officer of the Royal Navy who served as Chief of Defence Procurement at the UK Ministry of Defence from 1996 to 2003. Robert Walmsley was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, on 1 February 1941 and was educated at Fettes College in Edinburgh.
