It would be nice if Mr Reid could stick to writing about the British Army (his true interest?) rather than write these biased and revisionist "histories". 2 people found this helpful.

While nothing a couple minor errors here and there, this book - for the intent of a more moderate production - was, IMO, a solid success. Many pics were copies of period pieces and information was corroborated by a number of references. This isn't a book about Anglo-Saxons or Lowland Scottish or Ulster Scottish, but specifically (within limitations of its size) about Highland Scots.
