The book offers very good overview and describes the different phases in sail racing in easily understandable manner. Pictures are also clear and very usefull for this purpose. The structure is also good and you can easily select the topics you are mostly interested. The downside is that it looks however very much as a product of it's time and re-editing it with more modern e.g. pictures would easily add one more star to the rating

Rodney Pattison is a living legend. He gives great instructions on sailing, especially from his standpoint as one of the best Flying Dutchman sailors of all time. Worth a read.
