When this was published, it was probably a great book. But today, 10 years down the road, its woefully out of date.
The historical perspective is useful, as history doesn't change, but the case studies are next to useless.

One asks how a university can utilize the 802.11a standard (which has been surpassed by b, g, and N in today's markets).
Another wants to know how a bank can leverage dial-up access to provide video conferencing to their customers.

As you can see, it is not up to date at all. It actually describes USB as an "up and coming technology"
Overall, it was useful for the historical information, but nothing more.

Please, colleges, reconsider using this outdated textbook. It is so far behind the times that it is a hilarious read, in a not-so-hilarious way for someone paying good money to go to your school.

Used this to study for for my group. Good book.

Very good book. Lots of background, history and information. Starts off slow and as it goes it gets into the depth of things. Worth the read.

Book came to my house very fast. It actually is a good book. From what I have seen so far its more of a overview of everything, there is no actual application of the theories taught in the book.
