If you live in a fairly large city you should be able to find some of the harder ingredients in an ethnic grocery but substitutions shouldn't be too hard.

This book is amazing. The photographs are breathtaking. I sometimes just flip through the book to look at the photographs and read about the different countries and Madhur's experiences. Unlike any other cook book I own. I have made several recipes in this book. They might seem intimidating for a novice cook, but for seasoned cooks such as myself, I love cooking from this book. I am going to purchase more of her books from Amazon. It is more than a cookbook. It is an adventure!
