Very clearly written. I was not expecting the book to consist mainly of menus. I like very much that the menus have nutritional content calculated, and menus are categorized by nutrient that you want to get as well as by meal type. The main drawback for me is that the fat content and caloric value of the recipes are so high. A breakfast alone is about 600 calories. This is fine I guess for someone on a 2000 calorie per day meal plan. Some of the meal plans seem a little contrived to me with combinations of foods that I might not want together. There is a lot of use of juices, which I am not sure is that healthy. I think that most of the time the body can better handle foods in their whole state; that is, an apple rather than apple juice - without the balancing fiber, etc. I think the book is still useful though, and some substitutions to cut fat content, and to use whole grain and whole food products will be helpful. It is possible to eat an unhealthy vegetarian and vegan meal plan, so that is just my own caution. There is good advice on general nutrition and a glossary of terms. Not bad. I think overall I prefer The title, Becomimg Vegan.

This was very useful for nutritional information and the index is great but the recipes haven't been all that enticing for me. I honestly haven't found many that I even want to try. It's not my favorite vegan cookbook that I own but may be useful down the road

My seven year old son doesn't eat much meat or dairy. He prefers a mostly vegan diet as much as he can possibly get away with in a family of meat eaters. I bought this book because it has a lot of information on what vegetables and other vegan items provide the most protein, fat, iron, potassium, calcium, etc... I haven't cooked any of the recipes because my son prefers his veggies raw but I have used this book quite a bit as a shopping resource to make sure he's getting the variety of nutrients that he needs.

This is a great book! Everything as expected! I wonder if the author is related to the late Mel Wasserman who founded the school "Cedu" ! It was a great experience!

Good book. Looking forward to try some of the recipes
The author enables readers to enjoy quickly the rewards of really superb meals and how to eat healthy and affordably. Even for a life long "meat" eater like me!
