Vampire Knight Vampire Knight - Vol. 4 released by Viz on April 2008. Matsuri Hino artist, cover, writer. Short summary describing this issue.

A former bookstore shopkeeper, Matsuri Hino burst onto the manga scene with her title Kono Yume ga Sametara (When This Dream Is Over), which was published in Lala DX magazine. Hino was a manga artist a mere nine months after she decided to become one. With the success of her popular series Toraware no Minoue (Captive Circumstance), and MeruPuri, Hino has established herself as a major player in the world of shojo manga.

Zero warns Yuki to stay away from Maria Kurenai, the new Night Class transfer student, although he won't tell Yuki why. Kaname is also wary, and he sends Ichijo to watch Maria so she doesn't start trouble. Who is this girl, and why does she have the entire Night Class on edge

This was my long awaited volume to the series. I was so involved in this manga that I would practically go into a state of depression when I had to wait months for the next volume to come out. So I wised up and quit reading after volume 14 and decided that I would re-read all the volumes once the final volume came out. I must say that it was worth the wait. I had tears in my eyes when I finished volume 19, but the tears are due more to the poignancy of the bittersweet end to the story that I loved to much. I hope that Funimation or some other anime company will complete the anime to this series now that the manga has ended. I know that I'll be one of the first customer to buy the anime on Amazon.

I can't say enough on how well this manga was written and illustrated. Kudos to Matsuri Hino. I would like to say more but I might ruin this manga for others. So if you want to know how this story ends, pick up all of the volumes and start reading. You won't be disappointed, because all of the volumes are keepers.
I have always been a huge fan of these books, since I first read them in Shojo Beat magazine (all the way back in 2008!). The story is compelling, the illustrations are gorgeous, and I find the author very likeable - she leaves little notes about the story/herself/the characters in the margins of the book.

The characters are so well thought out and very younique and distinctive from one another. Even though it's not outright stated by book four, the tension of the blossoming love triangle really keeps you on your toes! And the illustration is great. Some artists will skimp certain panels in favor for several extremely well-drawn and detailed pages. This is not the case with Matsuri Hino! Every single page and panel is beautifully illustrated.

One of my favorite mangas for sure :)
Light out of Fildon
Vampire Knight, vol. 4 was awesome! Maria Kurenai was born frail, but she's a Night Class student. She's playing tricks on the Night Class, including Yuki and Zero. In the ballroom dance event, Yuki and Kaname finally did slow dancing alone outside the balcony as a couple. Kaname loves her so much, since he saved her from the vicious level E vampire from 10 years ago. Shizuka and Maria are playing dangerous games to Yuki and Zero. But Ichiru appears from the upstairs. So Zero and Ichiru are reunited at Cross Academy. After Zero, Ichiru, and Shizuka have an intense battle, Kaname has a conversation w/ her, and he stabs her. Shizuka is one vicious vampire who killed Zero and Ichiru's parents. This is such a good story from Vampire Knight vol. 4.
Thank you Matsuri Hino...it was quite the journey and each page filled with fun laughter joy pain sadness. I was happy to have read it
in waiting
These are my granddaughters favorite books and is working to get complete series.
Unexpected ending but I felt that Hino sensei was able to satisfy many ship fandoms (Zero x Yuuki and Kaname x Yuuki). It was bittersweet and the first time I read it, I cried. It's definitely my favorite manga series and I recommend it to anyone to read. Enjoyable and it was oh so emotional for me. We finally got the ending we deserved and it was worth it. :')

Watch out for the special chapter 94 called Life that will be released in December of 2014 :)
This manga is amazing! This manga takes you through many emotions, I loved it! This was a beautiful story. I wish there was more to the story!
...but I don't want to be a vampire!

Volume 1 of Vampire Knight introduced us to sweet Yuki, angsty Zero, and mysterious Kaname. They make quite a triangle and could carry the story all by themselves. Books two and three introduced more interesting characters, from a vampire hunter to...Well, I don't want to ruin the plot but Volume 4 delves into Zero's past. Get this series! You will not be disappointed.
