I purchased all of the books for my grandson who is 8 and extremely interested in the Great Lakes. He recently watched the special on the Geographic channel "Draining the Great Lakes". I had a difficult time finding books for each of the great lakes and found these on Amazon. He lives in Texas and it is very hard to explain how large and interesting the lakes are if you are not from Michigan. He loved them all and is very good on remembering details - and he is already quoted some of the details from the Lake Superior book which was the first one he chose to read.

Too bad there are not more books at a children's level about our great lakes, the Edmund Fitzgerald, etc.. I'd buy more if I could find them.

I use this in my third grade classroom, for group research. The level of the reading can be a little more difficult for the average third grader. However, the pictures and info about the lake is really great for them.
