This is a very strange story about mental illness. It mentions deep breathing but no other coping strategies. It's an extremely detailed story about a boy who has conversations with an imaginary friend, rather than seeking help from people. The author refers to mental health disorders as "brain illnesses"; I don't think it's helpful to tell troubled kids that their brain is malfunctioning. It doesn't give specifics about therapy; it just said it helps. Honestly, the main point of this book is that retreating into a fantasy world is a helpful coping strategy.

This is a heartwarming story about a delicate subject which most people find difficult and prefer to avoid. It helps to make a breakthrough in accepting and explaining what other books fail to do...This book is at once educational and informative, it is hopeful and reassuring, and it is an interesting story that will appeal to everone on its own merits.
