A little pig with a desire to be important and do something wonderful ventures off to ask a horse, dog, and hen why each of them is unique. Lady Annabel has had an incredible life. I do not see how she did it all and remained sane but she seems like she was/is a great mom and what adventures she has had! This is one woman who does not need to read romance novels - she has lived them!

PreSchool-Grade 1?Charming pig Annabel, feeling the wanderlust of spring, wants to leave the mud puddle she calls home to find an exciting new place to live. So off she trots, with her mother's blessings, of course. A bird's nest in the plum tree is unreachable; a frog's lilly pad sinks beneath her. While cat's barn is exciting, it's also scary, so Annabel races back to Mama and the mud puddle, just as her mother knew she would.

SIDELIGHTS: Janice Boland once told CA: "Before I could read or write, I was drawing stories. My mother was a schoolteacher and a great advocate of literacy. My father was artistically and musically gifted. Our house was filled with books and drawing material and comic books. I remember understanding the stories in the comic books before I could read, by looking at the pictures. My first trade book, Annabel, is really a very brief autobiography. When I was writing it I wasn't aware of that, but after it was published I realized how much Mother Pig is like my mother. She expects Annabel to be adventurous and successful in everything she does, and Annabel is.

As a sophmore i really liked the book Annabel. To me it was very interesting since i grew up and still do live on a farm. My family farm used to have pigs on it too. The book is a great book for children, it explains that being big isnt everything in life. Childhood is fun also. So i highly suggest that you read the book! ITS GREAT!!

It was rather moving the way this little pig did all that work to think he was bigger but his size didnt change. yes i would recomend this book to anyone who likes to read and understand that a small thing can do lots of things that the regular sizes can.
