This version of the well know Bible story of Joseph is THE VERY BEST version for children that I have EVER read. I used it as a read-aloud at home with my own 4 children and for more than 30 years in my classroom. It is simply and faithfully written, with such skill and powerful drama, that it has never failed to move me to tears as it draws to a close as Joseph reconciles with his brothers and is reunited with his father Jacob. Derwent takes a very familiar story and breathes fresh life into it. I have read it to children from 5 to 10 and they were equally 'caught up' by it and hungry for more.
