I think the two blurbs Amazon lists for this book are in error; they make this book sound much more simplistic than it is! It's a clear, understandable presentation of feathers, how birds fly, beaks, and eggs. It's definitely a science book, not merely an "inspirational" one. If you're looking for a book for elementary school children that has clear and complete information about feathers, this is the best one I found. Check out the "look inside" option to get a better idea of the level of the text.

Used this for our homeschool. Younger children follow the information easily. Well presented, excellent pictures and illustrations.
