I purchased this book on the strength of having read 'The Victorian City' and, although I have not finished reading 'Inside the Victorian Home', I am finding it to be equally enjoyable and informative. This is the same book as 'The Victorian House' by Judith Flanders. I bought it thinking it was a new work - perhaps in more detail - so have had to return it.

A rare view inside a 19th century Victorian home. Inside an 1880’s home. Isn’t it lovely? Makes me want to light a fire and just sit and enjoy. You can tell from the gun, rug, and antlers that this was a hunting family and from the spinning wheel that while they were fairly well-off, they still made due with what they had.
