I bought this for my son since he has his first loose tooth. I wrote a little note from the tooth fairy and left it for him. He was so excited and we read it that night. These books take me back and I am so happy when I am able to share in some of my childhood memories with my child. Love these books!

I have to honestly say that I'm at a loss on how to feel about this book. I hoped it would go into some deeper meaning on things like many of the other books, this one stayed closer to the materialistic aspect of focus.

SPOILERS: Sister bear loses a tooth and is excited, she talks to her friend Lizzy and Lizzy mentions that she gets an entire Dollar for her tooth whereas Sister usually only gets a quarter. Sister bear comes home and tells her parents who comment that they had no idea there was inflation on teeth. Then lo and behold, Sister gets a dollar for her tooth.

I didn't really take it that she was having a tantrum or complaining, more like explaining to her parents a conversation that she had. I think it's interesting to include inflation as a concept, but it wasn't something that I was expecting when seeing something labeled tooth fairy. Ironically, I've already had to have a talk about inflation because my parents told my daughter that she is supposed to get $5 a tooth. A TOOTH. Yeah, I had to explain that the first and last baby teeth maybe because those are special but I don't know if the tooth fairy can afford $5 a tooth. We had a really good conversation and I think I can read this book to her and help link it to our conversation before about how prices change and we can't always expect it to stay the same.

I thought Mama and Papa should not have caved to inflation and peer pressure on paying the tooth fairy.

Book arrived with 2 covers stapled back to back and only 4 pages inside. This was such a cheap item $3 and some change that instead of going through the trouble of returning it I ordered nother one. Fingers crossed the first one was just a fluke.... I hope. Unfortunately this was a gift.
