User reviews
My child needed this for a book report. It was hard to find the story of Little Red Riding Hood that was just the classic version. I was happy to find this version. The illustrations are lovely.
This book is terrific, well written and the photos are fabulous! Nancy Wiley is well known to Doll Art Nerds such as myself. Her work is imaginative and wonderful. The book features photos of her dolls, that illustrate the story of Little Red Riding Hood.
I recommend this book both for legitimate kids and adult kids, as well!
This review is for the audiobook version pf this title. Little Red Riding Hood is my son's absolute favorite fairy tale, and we own many versions of it in various media. We all know the story, obviously, but there are many interpretations of it with slightly different events.

In this one the heroine is named Little Red Cap--not Little Red Riding Hood--so the title is not exactly accurate. It is also the version where the wolf is still alive when the Huntsman cuts him open, and Little Red Cap puts stones in the wolf's stomach and they sew him back up to die a grisly death. I've always disliked this particular spin on the Riding Hood tale, and wish it were one of the other ones where they just kill the wolf. I had to have a bit of a talk with my child after we listened to it. (Of course, you kind of have to do that with most fairly tales, anyway.)

The narration was excellent, however. If you don't mind the weird name for the heroine or the torture of the wolf, then I think this is the version to get.

I received this book for free at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
