Has a choo choo song. but not too loud as some other books are. My son got this at 6 months old and he is now a year. Great book that opens into a full length train with intriguing passengers and a fun tune with train sounds and cheering crowd; yet not loud.

Has a choo choo song. I would say he didn't seem too interested in it until 9 months old at which time he started pressing the nose of the train himself to hear the choo choo song and lights.

Charlie the Choo-Choo was a book purchased by Jake Chambers at The Manhattan Restaurant of the Mind. It tells the story of Charlie the Choo-Choo and Engineer Bob. In the book, Charlie is very friendly and dependable, yet Charlie's smile is often described as being untrustworthy. Charlie bears many similarities to Blaine the Mono. In Jake's world, the author of the book was Beryl Evans. In Roland's world, the author listed is Claudia y Inez Bachman. This name holds special significance

Children will love to climb aboard Charlie, for he demonstrates the power of positive thinking through his perseverance and encouraging song--with genuine train sounds.

The caboose arrives, the trip is done. The Can-Do Choo Choo had such fun. 'Just wait till morning,' says our friend, 'And I can do it all again!'

Children will gravitate to this infectious story of perseverance, for there are no obstacles Charlie cannot overcome with his 'can-do' attitude and optimistic approach to life. When Charlie's nose is pressed, children hear the conductor shout, 'All aboard!' The catchy rhyme and repetitive refrain mimics the sound of a train's momentum which makes this an ideal read-aloud book. The PVC push-button nose, train sounds, and cheerful illustrations will make this book a beloved favorite with young children. Ages 3 to 5.

User reviews
This is a cute board book that plays a catchy song when you push the train's nose on the front cover. It extends out like a train, accordian-style. I bought this to replace an older copy of the book (from 2007) that has seen better days and doesn't play for more than a few seconds.

The good:
-new version has a on/off switch on the battery cover.

The bad:
-new version cut out 2 pages. What the heck? Loss of a star per page for removing the dinosaur and freight towing pictures and lyrics.

The odd:
-new version doesn't have a puffy train face; has been replaced with just a flat button on the nose

I'm considering returning this book, and/or contacting the publisher to see why they did that and if there is any way to fix the older book I already had. (I'll try to remember to update this review later with the results.)

She loves the sound of the train. Book opens up and each page has a little light that lights up. Book is two sided. Push the train nose and it makes a happy and uplifting train sound. My grandaughter is 8 months and loves this book and gets so excited when we read it. Also a great feature to this book is it has replaceable batteries and you can turn the button off when not in use.
I am very upset. I bought this book, which was not cheap for my 11 month old whose name is Charlie. We only played the music and read the book a few times before it stopped working. It is past the return date so I am stuck. I think amazon should extend a return date if the product breaks in less than 2 months. Waste of money if it does not play music anymore. Save your money on this one.
My daughter loves this book and loves pushing the button to hear the train choo choo sounds while I read it to her
Very cute book and story.
My 10month old loves it......although it did take him a little while to get used to the noise! But now he is pressing Charlies nose and setting the sight and sound on by himself!
Grandson loved it!
To be honest, when I received the book I was disappointed. I was expecting more lights and sounds - like you push several buttons each with a different sound. There is only one button and one music and it's on the first page. The rest of the pages each have a small light - they all blink according to the music.

Well my son loves it! He is now 8 1/2 months old. He loved it since he was 3 months old when I got the book for him. He's fascinated by the lights, the music and the little face of the train on the first page. He can't push the button himself though. It's kinda tough to push it - sometimes it's a good thing though :) When we are out and we don't want to bother people around it's good to have control over how much noise we want to let him make.

I definitely recommend this book!
