Hill had brought them to his Missouri farm 16 years earlier; one had been 30 inches high and had been on a bottle her first two years.

Having known Murray Hill personally, I believe the author took some liberties with dialog, but he captured the essence of Murray, a feisty, no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is kind of guy. When you understand that Murray loved those elephants more than anything else in the world, some of his crazy antics will make sense to you. He gave up everything for them.
I enjoyed the book because I had a personal connection to Murray, Tory and Duchess, not sure it has a broad appeal, but I'd recommend it.

I NEVER received the above book. I am very disappointed with Amazon and its third party affiliates. I use Amazon 90% of the time when I purchase items online, but now I will be hesitant in buying anything from Amazon.
