While one Amazon.com.uk book traces the Washington family back to a King Ord of Scandenavia ca. 20 A.D., a history of the British Royal Family, makes him a close relative of the late Queen Mother; and, thereby even of Princess Diana. These are among the many poetic ironies of our Founders. As President Obama has said: "Our Founders Put Us at a Disadvantage"--only one of many rascist slanders.sunlight is needed. First in "Women of the American Revolution," "freemen" ("Blacks" performed many unsung acts of heroism believing in the cause of freedom. As for President Washington and his wife (nee Martha Parke Custis) freed their slaves; but, covetous relatives tried to re-enslave them, There are many Black descendants of the Washington slaves yet, whom President Washington had granted in perpetuity burial and land rights at Arlington cemetery, a right later revoked. Ben Franklin (until other official duty called), had a charity school for Indians, Whites; and, Freemen. It was Tory Traitors as Thomas Jefferson, who expanded Britains' slave plantations rather, who most kept true liberty and equality from existing from the U.S.'s Revolution

Worthless - snooty to the nth degree. George Washington has some value in Debtrett's eyes because he is related to British peerage; Abraham Lincoln and every word he ever spoke is trash because, in Debrett's opinion, Lincoln is trash as well - i.e. no royal associations. I expected it would be more factual and would provide good background information on the lineage and ancestry of the presidents - not so.
