High speed photographs show birds and insects in flight, a golf ball struck by a club, athletes in action. I was hoping for a book that would explain the process of split second photography. It is really just a short book with great images of split second photography.

Stephen Dalton (born 1937) is an English wildlife photographer and author. He is known for his pioneering work, from the early 1970s onward, in high-speed nature photography. He was the first person ever to record pin sharp images of insects in flight. His work covers a wide variety of animals: from amphibians and birds to mammals and invertebrates. Dalton was born in Surrey in 1937 and from a young age was an enthusiast for nature and photography.

They had an exhibit in Okla City a few years ago. This wasn't the same artist, but done wonderfully well!

This book is a must have for anyone desiring to take their craft seriously, and it is specifically excellent for anyone interested in the study of motion, special effects, or animation drawing. I do think it is an invaluable resource and a great introduction to a later expansion on the investigations provided. Although, this touches briefly on the work and subject matter. There does leave a desire for one to take up more studies.
