Manet: His Life and Work in 500 Images: An Illustrated . You feel the life in these paintings. What a pleasure to enjoy these treasures.

Manet: His Life and Work in 500 Images: An Illustrated Exploration Of The Artist, His Life And Context, With A Gallery Of 300 Of His Greatest Works. For reasons I can't understand this book has no color plates of the glorious Constantine room that Raphael painted in the Vatican. It also offers no discussion of this important room. The images and the story gives great insight into this legendary master.

It was well written and illustrated with reproductions of a large collection of his paintings.

Monet: His Life & Works in 500 Images. I found the book very informative regarding his life and his painting methods. 3 people found this helpful.

A perceptive and detailed account of the artist Paul Cezanne, who inquely bridged the gap between the Impressionist and the Cubist movements.

Bought this book for my dad for his birthday. He's and artist and a huge art enthusiast. He absolutely loves it! The pictures are great and he enjoyed reading the little snippets throughout the book. Would definitely recommend!

Having just started an art course I chose to study Cezanne and knew little about him. I found the book very informative regarding his life and his painting methods. It was well written and illustrated with reproductions of a large collection of his paintings. I am unable to judge the quality of reproduction of his works though found them mostly quite helpful as an illustration of the use of colour, brush strokes, etc.

My artist son loved this book. It had about a hundred of Cezanne's paintings and it was a big hit when I gave it to son. Highly recommend to anyone who loves impressionist art.

Not had time to get any substantial reading on this book yet. So; as soon as I get my 'teeth' into it I'll set up a review, and I can't wait!!!

The book covers the span of Cezanne's life well but the images of his work were disappointing. The size of the images are too small to enjoy the artist's work. The color of some of the images were far from the real ones. Don't spend your money on this.
Cezanne deserves it. Will be useful for art classes and history of art followers. Looking forward to read the new book on Cezanne.
