This story is part of the "Davis Landing" series, and represents Kathryn Springer's contribution. I like her romance novels - one of the most appealing characteristics of her writing is how she keeps the plots focused on God's purposes and providence in bringing the protagonists together in the midst of difficult circumstances; I like how the characters fall in love, in spite of the their mutual, but independent, reasons for not wanting to risk their hearts (this is a common plot device in so many romance novels, isn't it?)

So far, this is the only book in the series that I've read. I'm looking forward to reading the others - there were so many great characters introduced in this novel, whose stories will be as touching and inspirational as Chris and Felicity's romance.

Book 5 in the Davis Landing Series. Of course I loved all the Landing books. Loved Chris and the sparing between him and Felicity, glad he could protect her.
I am not much good at expressing my thoughts so am not very elaborate in this department.

Another great book that I don;t want to put down. It has so many things going on and I always wonder what will the next chapter bring. Thank you Harlequin for your Love Inspired books.

This is a good romance and mystery all rolled up in one great book. Plus it is another story about one of the Hamilton family so your interest in this series continues.

This is a great series. I had not heard of a series being written by diferent authors.
Great concept. They all tie together beautifully.
Chris, the middle son and twin to Heather (who's story was in the first book) is a police officer. Unfortunately, he'd become a cop without his father's blessing since he was 'supposed' to be part of the family business. When his brother, Tim, asks Chris to talk to one of his reporters that had received some threatening letter, Chris did so reluctantly. If only he knew it would change his life!

Afraid of fear itself, Felicity had decided not to let anything make her afraid. Though she had a 'thing' about enclosed spaces such as elevators, she tried to face it head-on. That's why she wouldn't take Chris's concerns about these threats seriously.

My favorite parts, were of course the dialogue between Chris and Felicity when she was 'caught' disobeying him. Like when she refused to use the partner system, thinking she would get by without him catching her breaking the rules...he was always there! One day he caught her why cruising in his police car. Another day he was waiting for her with his arms folded across his chest when she 'snuck' back into her office. And the caramel thing was so funny! I loved the banter between these two.

It seems, though, that the author was more interested in the mystery than in the romance. I was really disappointed at the end when it just said "and he kissed her." and that was it...But the rest of the story was very good.

Wallace, of course, is still in the hospital. There's no sign of Jeremy or Melissa. There was as much focus on the family in this book as there was in the first book. Also, there is an announcement made at the end of the book...

I've given this five stars even though I was a bit disappointed with the romance because I found myself not wanting to put it down when I had to...that's always a good sign of an excellent book.
