Mike Cleveland and staff, Jeremy, Craig and others, Thank you for your willingness to be used as the hands of Christ extended to this woefully unworthy yet grateful saint. This course is one I took through SettingCaptivesFree. The reason it's so helpful to take the course is that you will be mentored by someone who will pray for you. Satan always prefers that we keep things in the dark and not tell anyone.

Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Start by marking Pure Freedom: Breaking the Addiction to Pornography as Want to Read: Want to Read savin. ant to Read.

The first half of Freedom from Addictions tells the unbelievable story of Mike and Julia Quarles, and how Mike overcame a debilitating addiction to alcohol. He achieved success by applying the principles that make up the central theme of Dr. Anderson's message: that we are saints according to God's Word (Ephesians 1) and that true freedom comes from realizing our identity in Christ. Many Christians are locked in a cycle of addiction, particularly in the areas of alcohol and drug abuse. Many have turned to twelve-step programs for help.

Breaking a Pornography Addiction. Do everything you can to avoid pornography in the future. Breaking a Pornography Addiction. Make prayer, scripture study, service, and other uplifting activities the focus of your life. The Lord taught, Cease fro. ll your lustful desires and let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly (D&C 88:121; 121:45). With sincere repentance and the help of the Savior and His chosen servants, you can overcome this addiction.

There are also quite a few good books on overcoming porn addiction: Every Man's Battle: Winning the War on Sexual Purity One Victory at a Time by Stephen Arterburn, Pure Freedom: Breaking the Addiction to Pornography by Mike Cleveland, and The Game Plan by Joe Dallas. Because pornography is not a substance that you ingest, people find it vary difficult to understand that it is addictive. In fact, the effect that it has on your brain, is similar to the effect drugs have on your brain. When you are exposed to pornography at a young age, you are even more susceptible to becoming addicted.

Courageous Faith and Daily Integrity

It seems that overcoming addiction to Internet porn is more than just attempting to break the habit

It seems that overcoming addiction to Internet porn is more than just attempting to break the habit. Rather, there is a chemical process in the brain that becomes rewired. ONCE IT’S FLIPPED ON, it stays on for a while and doesn’t go away easily. Recovery from Internet pornography addiction and any related conditions (such as erectile dysfunction) can be achieved, but it requires willpower, determination and an understanding of just what has been happening. Additionally, a desire to make changes in this and other areas of life is useful to the process that is appropriately termed rebooting.

I took this course a year ago after being addicted to porn for decades. By pointing me to Jesus and walking me through Biblical steps to freedom, I have now been free for almost a year. Amazingly I had known all this in the past but it had never really impacted me before. This course is laid out in a logical, understandable format that is easy to follow. You also can be free from this terrible, shaming addiction. I strongly recommend this course.

I arrived to Mr Cleveland website ([...]) desesperated to seek a help to my addiction. With the online course and this book I found out that porn addiction is not only a symptom of a bigger problem, but also a void in my life that only Jesus Christ can be fil.
This excellent book is different from others because it first focuses on scriptures and then on testimonies. The other books first uses the testimonies and then talk about the scriptures.
The only thing I wanted more is to have more examples of praying focused on each class and each topic aborded.

I'll keep it simple. This course has saved my life. Praise Jesus! As many testimonies in the course will attest to, if you are struggling with pornography and want to be free from it, you must be willing to commit to the entire course with your entire heart, mind and spirit. God will take care of the rest. What a deal!

I am so thankful for this books impact on mylife. This is no self help book! This is a book that will teach you how to allow God to help you. The differance is so vital. I couldn't change myself but God could and DID! This book changed my perspective on sin, and the way out of it. God wants to change you into a person that is free from Porn! GET THIS BOOK!!!!
Having been raised in the church, the lessons in this book mostly hit parts of the Bible I knew, but then applied them to my life in practical ways. What is going on in this book (or at their web site at [...]) is not rocket science (no offense Mike and staff), it is application of the oldest and best documented power on the face of planet Earth: the Word and Spirit of God. That points out my problem very clearly: I knew the truth and hadn't applied it, hadn't depended on it for my very life and breath. When I did, God kept His word,
"Come now and let us reason together, says the Lord, though your sins are scarlet red, they shall be white as snow, though they are as red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Isaiah 1:18
"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the Devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." James 4:6b-8a
The hardest lesson for me was "Drag It Into The Light". My church friend cornered me on this. We were discussing my lesson around day 40. It came out that I had not told my wife everything. I was afraid. I explained, I rationalized, I stalled, I complained (and he prayed). When I finally told my wife everything, she was so supportive!
Here I am, 59 lessons later, 100% porn free. What a lightness has returned to my heart! I enjoy my Bible study! I can see
God changing me. He's given me freedom to talk to other men about the reality of freedom from habitual sin. He has given me opportunities to speak to some unsaved friends about the Gospel. It can be done because God is very gracious. I had the benefit of two Accountability Partners (AP's): my church friend and Jeremy from SCF. I recommend having an AP who you see regularly in addition to your online one.
Mike Cleveland and staff, Jeremy, Craig and others,
